Herlambang P. Wiratraman is a lecturer at Constitutional Law Department, Faculty of Law, University of Gadjah Mada (UGM). Graduated from Master of Arts (MA) Program in Human Rights and Social Development, Mahidol University, Thailand (2006), and Ph.D in Law at the Van Vollenhoven Institute, Faculty of Law, Leiden University, the Netherlands (2014). He used to be visiting professor/researcher at the GSID Nagoya University (2015), CALS NUS Law School (2017), Sydney Myer Asia Center, the University of Melbourne (2017), Vietnam National University Law School (2017), and NCHR Faculty of Law, University of Oslo (2018). His major research includes Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Media and Freedom of Expression. Actively involved in defending human rights and academic freedom through various alliances and policy reform strategies. Currently he serves as Steering Committee of Southeast Asian Human Rights Studies Network (SEAHRN), Advisory Board of KIKA (Indonesian Caucus for Academic Freedom), and expert team member for developing Norm and Procedural Standard for Freedom of Expression and Opinion, Indonesian National Human Rights Commission, and member of Indonesian Young Academy of Science (ALMI). Herlambang is also Board Chairperson of ELSAM Indonesia, a leading human rights organization for research and policy advocacy in Indonesia.
Manunggal K. Wardaya, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D is an assistant professor and the Head of Constitutional Law Department, Faculty of Law Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED), Purwokerto. His field of expertise is in the field of constitutional law including Human Rights Law, Media Law, and Legal policies. Manunggal is the co-founder of SEPAHAM and was elected as the first chairman of the organization (2010-2014). He obtained his bachelor degree from UNSOED in 1998. In 2004 he received a scholarship from the Australian Government through Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) and received his LL.M (International & Comparative Law) from Monash University Lawschool, Melbourne Australia a year later. In 2009. Manunggal studied ‘Globalization, Labour Rights and Corporate Social Responsibilities’, a short course program at the Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus Universiteit, The Hague, the Netherlands. His study was financed by the Netherlands government through STUNED scholarship. In 2021 Manunggal received his Ph.D from Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen the Netherlands. The title of his dissertation is ‘Dealing with the Dark Past: the Prospect of the Settlement of the 1965-1966 Events in Indonesia’ which was written under the supervision of his promotor Prof. Piet Hein van Kempen (Radboud Universiteit) and co-promotor Dr. Laurens Bakker (Universiteit van Amsterdam). Dian Noeswantari is the Treasurer of the Indonesian Association of Human Rights Lecturers (SEPAHAM Indonesia) as well as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Brawijaya, Indonesia. He took a master’s degree in the theory and practice of human rights at the University of Oslo, Norway, and finished his doctorate from the faculty of law, University of Brawijaya. His experiences on human rights activities were started at the LBH Surabaya (Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation) as a volunteer while studying bachelor’s degree in law at the Faculty of Law, University of Airlangga. In international advocacy, Muktiono in collaboration with the Minority Rights Group International (MRGI) has submitted an alternative report to the UPR mechanism under the UN Human Rights Council and attended the forum at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. In recent years, Muktiono is a team member of drafter on the human rights’ rule and norm standard established by the Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) especially on the issues of religious freedom and access to justice. Muktiono has also deepened his research experiences when conducting visiting scholars at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR), a research fellowship at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and an awardee of research program provided by the SHAPE-SEA (Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research and Education in ASEAN).
Al Khanif has been Chair of The Center for Human Rights, Multiculturalism and Migration (CHRM2), University of Jember since 2017. He completed his bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Jember in 2003, then earned a Master of Arts (MA) from the Center for Religious and Cross Cultural Studies (CRCS Universitas Gadjah Mada) in 2006. A year later, he received a Chevening Scholarship from the British Government to continue his education. to the Master of Laws (LLM) level with a concentration on war law and human rights at Lancaster University, UK 2008. His doctoral degree in law was obtained from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London 2016. In 2011 he was also selected to be a participant Pluralism and Democracy International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), USA.
Apart from teaching, Al Khanif is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Southeast Asian Human Rights (JSEAHR) at the University of Jember; reviewer in the Journal of Human Rights, UK Carfax Publishers; consultant to the Directorate of Services for Indigenous Peoples and Believers of the Ministry of Education and Culture 2021; the head of the Aceh KOMNAS HAM 2020-2021 Qanun research team; and the head of the team for the preparation of the cultural-based Strengthening MSMEs academic text at the Secretariat of the Presidential Advisory Council (WATIMPRES 2021).
